Introduction


Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal(1935 –2018) also called as Kanchi Shankaracharya, who was regarded as the best Universal Saint, and he was the Spiritual Guru and had served as the pontiff of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham wonderfully. His Guru was Sri Chandrashekarendra Saraswati Swamigal, who was also called as MAHA PERIYAVAL and as PARMACHARYA, and the birth name of Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal was Subramanyam Mahadeva.


Sri Jayendra Saraswathi conducted all the activities of the mutt in a nice manner, similar to his Guru, Sri Paramacharya, and won the hearts of millions and millions of his devotees. Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal after completing his initial schooling, he was studied under a Veda Padasala at Thiruvanaikoil in Trichy.


Jagadguru Sri Jayendra Saraswathi travelled all parts of the country along with His guru. He delivered religious discourses and also had done lot of spiritual and social activities, like setting up of several schools and hospitals. He also directly interacted with his devotees, and with a smiling face, he had given his blessings by slightly raising his hand. His disciple and the present day pontiff of the Kanchipuram Mutt is Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal.


On the fateful day of 27 February 2018, Sri Saraswathi has been hospitalised, and after some time he had died.. 


Sri Saraswati was not cremated, and hence he was put under a Samadhi, which is also referred to as the “HOLY BRINDAVANAM”. A Tulasi tree was also planted and a Holy Shiva lingam was installed on the top, and hence his Samadhi had become a permanent shrine. Devotees from various places visited the mutt and paid homage to the late Acharya.


Saints like Guru Raghavendra, Kanchi Paramacharya and Jayendra Saraswati Swamigal are created in order to reduce the sufferings of the people, and people would also have some kind of relief, and they would think that someone is ready to protect them, in case of all situations as well as in case of emergency needs. Generally saints would recommend our needs to the gods, and make our needs fulfilled at the appropriate time.
